Infection Risk Management and Policy Awareness
At Dentistry@BD4, the General Practice Risk Assessment and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Assessment are key tools used to identify potential risks of infection within the practice. These assessments also outline the control measures in place to manage and minimise those risks effectively.
In support of this, the Infection Control Policy and associated protocols and procedures provide clear guidance to all team members on how to consistently implement safe working practices.
All staff members:
Are fully aware of the contents of the practice’s risk assessments and infection control protocols
Have received a copy of the Infection Control Policy as part of their induction and ongoing training
Understand the importance of following infection prevention measures as part of routine daily practice
To maintain high standards of safety and compliance, the risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and infection control policies are reviewed regularly and updated as required, or when significant changes occur in practice operations, legislation, or guidance.
This structured approach ensures that Dentistry@BD4 remains committed to delivering a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors at all times
Staff Training and Policy Review in Infection Prevention & Control
At Dentistry@BD4, all team members are actively encouraged to meet their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, particularly in areas such as disinfection and decontamination. The practice supports this by providing regular update and refresher training to ensure staff are fully aware of and follow the most current infection control protocols and best practices.
Infection control training is a key component of our induction programme for new team members, ensuring consistent standards are maintained across the practice from the outset.
Team Training Completed in the Past Year:
All training is documented and forms part of the team’s CPD log, with certificates stored in personnel files and accessible for inspection.
